A.N. Pritzker School is a neighborhood school as well as a Regional Gifted Center and a Magnet Cluster School specializing in the Fine and Performing Arts. Listed below are the requirements for admission: Do you live within A.N. Pritzker Attendance Boundaries? Every child residing in Chicago has a CPS neighborhood school. Each neighborhood school has an attendance boundary. Generally, all students in Kdg-8th who live within our attendance boundary may attend our school. To identify your neighborhood school, visit the school locator website: http://schoollocator.cps.k12.il.us/ Pritzker's Regional Gifted Center Pritzker is one of ten Regional Gifted Centers, designed to provide appropriate services for children identified as gifted. Each program provides instruction at an accelerated pace that is up to two years above grade level. Students are encouraged to utilize critical thinking, problem solving, and logical reasoning. Selection is based on the test results and space availability. Students in grades 4-7 have to qualify to take the admissions exam. Eligibility is based on the scores from the student’s previous year’s ISAT or other standardized, nationally normed test. The minimum eligibility requirements for each program are below: Regional Gifted Center: 90th percentile in reading comprehension and total math Students must live more than 1.5 miles from the school in order to receive transportation service Fine and Performing Arts Magnet Cluster Program Pritzker is a magnet cluster school specializing in the fine and performing arts. A magnet cluster school is a specialized neighborhood school – it has a neighborhood attendance boundary and accepts students who live within that boundary. Magnet cluster schools also focus their curriculum on one of six subject areas: fine and performing arts, literature and writing, math and science, world language, International Baccalaureate Primary or Middle Years, or technology. Students who live outside of the neighborhood attendance boundary must submit an application in order to be considered for acceptance. A student may apply to any school in any cluster. Transportation is not provided to incoming students. |
