"Be sure to get your tickets for the Kahil El Zabar master class, 12 to 3 Friday February 10 and 7:00 pm concert. Or plan a night out for the grown ups and come to the Saturday 2/11 concert at 9 pm!

Fiddler on the Roof: Additional rehearsal on Monday, January 23, from 3:15-4:15,
To Fiddler Parents,

As you might remember from previous shows, we often need to call additional rehearsals to work on choreography. Ms. Lauren, our choreographer, would like to call the entire cast for an additional rehearsal on Monday, January 23, from 3:15-4:15, to work on the choreography for "Tradition, the opening piece of the production."

CPS Releases Parameters for Full School Day to Increase
Chicago Public Schools (CPS) today released parameters that both elementary and high schools will follow in adopting the full school day for the 2012-13 school year. The 7.5 hour day and 180 day year detailed in both the elementary and high school parameters will move CPS students from the shortest school day and year among the nation’s largest cities to getting it on par with the national average for instructional time in elementary and high school as well as length of the school year.

April 2012 Local School Council Elections
The next Local School Council election will be held on Spring Report Card Pick-Up Day – Wednesday, April 18, 2012 for elementary schools and Thursday, April 19, 2012 for high schools. I encourage and invite you to participate in the election by becoming a candidate for your school’s council and by voting in the parent and community election.
ASBESTOS MANAGEMENT PLAN
This is to notify you in accordance with Illinois and Federal Asbestos Regulations that a copy of the Asbestos Management Plan is available at each school during school hours by appointment. Requests to review the Asbestos Management Plan must be made at least 24 hours in advance. Also please be advised that CPS conducts asbestos inspections of all schools every three years. The last inspection was completed in 2010. Asbestos surveillances are conducted every six months.
